This Pro Augments Kajabi with Searchie

Karen Skinner and her husband own a company called Gimbal that helps lawyers and firms build more profitable and productive practices without spending every moment working—to achieve financial success and still have the time to enjoy it. They specialize in small firms and solo practitioners.

Using Searchie for a Lead Magnet

Karen has created an evergreen lead magnet using Searchie: The Lean Legal Academy’s Virtual Coffeehouse. In my interview with Karen, she describes how this Hub was simple to create. She simply took a playlist that she already had in Searchie and created an “instant Hub” with it.

The Virtual Coffeehouse contains an ever-expanding playlist of presentations, broken down by topic. Prospective clients who sign up for access to this Hub get a sense of the knowledge and value offered by Gimbal, and they are led to sign up for Karen’s membership program.

Augmenting Kajabi with Searchie

Karen’s membership Hub, The Practice Accelerator Membership, is integrated with Kajabi. The members enjoy a monthly masterclass, two hours of coaching per month (one using an expert in a specific knowledge area and one “hot seat” coaching call).

Karen found that Searchie provided way more value to her and her clients compared to Kajabi’s built-in video player. By copying and pasting HTML code from Searchie into Kajabi, Karen is easily able to embed playlists from Searchie.

Doing this saves time (loading video into Kajabi is cumbersome and time-consuming, but a snap using Searchie). It also provides Karen’s clients with the ability to change the playback speed or listen to an audio version if they’re on the go.

Karen pointed out that they used to spend hours creating pages and pages of summary notes for their videos. Thanks to Searchie’s transcripts feature, they no longer need to do that—the transcripts are easily accessible to the clients, with no additional work on Karen’s end.

Searchie allows members to search for specific content easily, using the search widget. Not only can they access past coaching calls, but they can submit a question ahead of time and then simply search for their name to view the exact moment that their question was addressed. What a time-saver!

Use Searchie to Uplevel Your Kajabi

Karen’s advice to new Searchie users is to dive in and put videos into your Searchie folder. Once they’re there, they can be deployed in all sorts of ways. She recommends setting up automations (like making coaching calls automatically upload to a particular playlist). Another important tip: Get good at editing Searchie captions! Teach Searchie about the unique lexicon of your business, including frequently-used words, spellings, capitalization, and names.

What a great example of the fact that you don’t need to abandon Kajabi—but using Searchie for your videos in Kajabi will be a win for both you and your clients!
