5 Reasons I Choose Searchie Vs Kajabi

In 2020, Searchie turned my head around. I had developed a course in teaching people how to use Kajabi (templates included) and was planning to launch a membership that would follow the course. I was so impressed with Searchie and Searchie Hubs that I left Kajabi. I decided to go all-in on Searchie and learn all I could about it. That meant five months of hard work down the drain. It was worth every minute of it and here’s why.

What is Searchie?

Searchie is a software platform designed by content creators for content creators. It is the most flexible, easy-to-use solution to create, organize, and share your content (think video, audio, other media) so that you and your audience get the most of it. Co-created by Stu McLaren of Tribe (who developed and later sold WishList Member) and Andrew Ferracolli, Searchie has everything an entrepreneur needs to grow a business.

Searchie is the world’s first search engine for video content. When you upload your video or audio content to Searchie, it automatically processes it to create a downloadable transcription, adds captions and makes the content searchable (hence the name Searchie!) Users love this feature!

Searchie is Easy to Use

I’ve been in the business for a lot of years and have been exposed to a lot of software. Searchie is by far the simplest, fastest way to set up a course, membership, landing/sales page, podcast, or website.

Tech-friendly

If you’re anything like me, you woke up one day with an idea to serve the world—to start and grow a business. I bet it didn’t include a deep desire to spend hours coding. “Techie” is not something you want added to your job description. The Searchie team understands we are not computer engineers so they made everything drag and drop.’

Loads Like a Dream

Loading content into Searchie takes just a few clicks with Searchie’s integrations with other platforms such as Facebook, Google, Dropbox, Vimeo, Zoom, OneDrive, and more. Don’t have anything recorded yet? No worries, start recording right on your own computer using the Searchie Chrome Extension. Install the extension on your computer, press record, start sharing everything locked up in your brain, press stop and you’re done!

Take it Next Level with Easy Advanced Features

Searchie’s advanced features like tagging, playlists, widgets, chapter tagging, and searchable transcripts make it easy: You can easily find, manipulate, and repurpose your content.

What All the Hubbub is About

Searchie Hubs, the “tool” within Searchie that creates a “site” to deliver your content, is unlike any on the market. The first Hub I set up took me 20 minutes to set up. While designing is second-nature to me, it isn’t for everyone. The Canva integration makes creation a snap. There is a variety of ‘sections’ (playlists, videos, buttons, lines, text, images or attachments) to use when building your Hub so you can create differentiation and interest so your users consume more content with more ease.

If you want to create a landing page or a freebie, a public Searchie Hub is the perfect solution when you want to keep your content “open”. If you want to create a more intimate experience with a course or membership, where a login is required, a “closed”, private Searchie Hub is best.

Searchie Offers an Amazing User Experience

When users get into Searchie they are wowed by the platform. The developers at Searchie keep things very clean, streamlined and simple, making it easy for users to navigate and, more importantly, to consume content. After all, that’s the primary goal, right?

Search It Up, Baby!

Seachie’s video search tool provides an exceptional learning experience. People are busy and don’t always make our Zoom sessions and/or want to refer back to the material. This one-of-a-kind feature allows my users to zero in on exactly what they want when they want it—adding an incredible amount of value to my offering to them.

Just for you

Searchie also gives me the ability to personalize my content. Audience tagging and segmentation allow me to tailor content to the needs of my users. They see what they most want and need to.

Analytics Drives Content Consumption

Using Searchie’s sophisticated analytics, I can see how my members are responding to the material. I can adjust it easily and quickly to make the most out of each time they interact with my content. For example, if they are really eating up certain things, I can give them more of that type of content. If they aren’t responding to others, I can remove it altogether, or give them less of that. Or, ask them why it’s not resonating with them or how I can change it up.

Searchie Makes Your Content Fully Accessible

It’s my responsibility to do everything possible to make sure my content caters to different needs and styles of learning and is accessible to everyone.

Made for Everyone

Searchie’s innovative technology creates a transcript and captions on video and audio. I know I’m not the only one watching videos in the dark at 3 am while my hubby is sound asleep. I need that sound off and captioning on! Sometimes I even like to print the transcript later so I can highlight sections of importance. Many of my users prefer to listen to content so I’m super grateful Searchie takes my video content and converts it to audio.

The entire Searchie platform is focused first and foremost on the user and it shows in every aspect.

Searchie Has Low Costs for Startup

When I was just starting out, Searchie was a more affordable way to run my membership. I began with the Basic Searchie Plan, free ConvertKit, and Squarespace. The total cost to get going was less than the cost of Kajabi. Here’s the breakdown on that:

I call all of this the Cost of Trying: Startup costs can be a real obstacle for some businesses, making it scarier to try new offerings and ventures. If you have less to lose, it’s easier to be creative. Sometimes you’re not sure what offer will hit the sweet spot with your audience. Or perhaps there’s an offering you’re running that you want to replace with something new—research has shown that we’re more likely to hold onto something that isn’t a good fit if we’ve sunk a lot of money into it.

I also knew that these other platforms that integrate with Searchie would do just as good a job, if not better, in helping me achieve my goals.

The Searchie Team Listens to Us

The folks who run Searchie are still in the product development mode. They provide incredible training and support, and they are always listening to users for what needs to be added or changed. Working with Searchie’s team helps me feel like I’m valued and that my needs are at the forefront.

I get great support from Searchie on technical and product questions. The response is fast and addresses the issue. The platform they use for future product improvements, Canny, is awesome. The team is great about asking for our feedback about ways we’d like to use Searchie in the future and updating us on the progress of planned improvements.

With Kajabi, I am one customer out of many.

I’m Glad I Moved to Searchie

I’m certainly not here to ding Kajabi.  It’s a good product that works for many businesses. But I have no regrets about moving to Searchie—more than that, I’m patting myself on the back for making that smart move.

If you’d like to hear more about Searchie and whether it might be right for you, please let me know. I’d love to hear from you!

And, if you’ve made the move, what’s your favorite feature?
